Default Lowering springs...

Hey guys,

I am sure some of you have lower their X308s, so what springs did you use?

Personally, I am considering buying some brand new sport springs (XJ Sport) and having them compressed by about 3 cm (little more than an inch) and then retempered. But what other choices are there (apart from cutting)?

Cheers

Damien

Speak to Paramount - (great Jaguar specialists imo)
https://www.paramount-performance.co...SKU177702.html
Or...
Speak to Lawson @ Powerhouse...
https://www.powerhouse.uk/content/ja...suspension.php
Or...
Racing Green.
Racing Green Cars - Jaguar
All 3 are Excellent aftermarket Jaguar specialists and all 3 have produced some very good stuff. Not cheap, but if you want the correct part then these are the people I'd suggest you use, not mess around trying to make springs. These guys have already done it....and got the Tee shirt.

From everything I have read over the years, Paramount and Mina Gallery don't lower much extra if you are already on the lower ROW springs.
Powerhouse is making custom springs, and could be very interesting as an alternative for you.

Then there are Jamex springs in Japan, they promise -40mm, but again, depends where you start.
I have seen pictures, and they look good though.
I still think that Jamex are re-branded German springs, but I have never found who they are, maybe H&R x300 springs.

The Mina springs are rebranded H&Rs, which is why they offer them with a TÜV certificate...

If you want to cut a set of your own springs, talk the Greverrr, he did his own.

I don't fancy cutting. More so pressing and retempering. Keeps the springs in tact but just lowers the height... That is at least what I was thinking. Though the prefab'ed springs are of course a better choice...

I bet powerhouse.uk could cater to your needs/wants, may not be too cheap but most likely cheaper than a tempering process by the time you get it right at all 4 corners.
Just throw a torch at the coils under pressure installed in the car until it lowers to where you want, just like I learned from some of the old time hot rodders....joking, don't do that

Pressing and tempering would be €200 in total
