Default M112 or M112 Rotor Pack?

Anyone have any they want to sell me or know a good resource to get one?

My rotor pack has bad front bearings and I took it to the local shop (ZZPerformance) and they confirmed my fears. They don't even have a source for this part anymore for the 112.

I found what might be an option: COATED ROTORS

I'm waiting to hear back.

That first link to "spinning wheels" seems too good to be true. $35 to change out center bearings and only $150 for a rotor pack exchange! I hope someone here can vouch for their work as that's an amazing price. The latter at $795 for a rebuild is more to the norm for this sort of service. My original SC needs the center bearings replaced so I'm watching this thread with some interest.

I've read about it here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/p...oating-140708/

I've read about them and I'm giving it a go. I just got a call back and apparently they can't do an exchange for my unit; I just have to send it in and get it done. I figure the set I have is possibly crap anyway and for less than the $800 from High Speed Lab, I can just buy a used SC from a 4.2.

I'm going to use my new credit card with all sorts of protections so let's see how this goes.

So 80sRule, Am I to gather you're sending your original 4.0 S/C in to these guys for rebuild? If so please keep me posted as I have my original unit in need of center bearing replacement/timing.

I just put a call in to them AND I see they are only 1 hour and 15 mins from my house. I'm going to see if I can just drop off mine and pick up when done, that way I can get a "feel" for the operation first hand.

Yup, and thanks again for your PM that they lost my info due to a dog eating it. That stuff happens, I had an Irish Wolfhound growing up and she ate anything at table level that resembled food lol.

I'm excited to get this fixed right. Next year I'm seriously going to buy either a X150 XKR Vert or a DB9 Volante; leaning towards the Jaguar since they've cost pennies to run. My XKR and XJR have been very reasonable to run and repair.

I want this XJR immaculate to give to my mom next year. It's cosmetically excellent on the exterior, needs the headliner redone (doing this summer) and it has two new sets of tires (a brand new set of Yokohama YK580s as of about a month ago, and a new set of Blizzaks last November), and it is about to get a full front suspension rebuild. She's 66 and needs a car to be reliable, so I'm shotgunning every important wear and failure part in this car. When I was little in the early 90s she had a restored 68 Cutlass 442 Convertible that had been restomodded before they called it that. She loved that thing, so she likes more powerful RWD cars.

No worries, she seemed concerned and had me somewhat confused with you ( she seemed happy to be getting Jaguar business) I was hoping they did the work at their shop outside of Gainesville but she uses the gentleman in Colorado. It's all packed up and ready to go to UPS in style! I'll report back with the results.

I didn't get a price breakdown, I told her to have him change out all the bearings (snout, mid, rear needle, time the rotors) and inspect the rotor pack and inner case plus switch out the small front pulley and put the stock one on (I'm leaving the large lower on the car for now) I'm hoping to stay under $450. Other places wanted $795 out the gate then add in "extras"

Any "pit falls" "tips" "parts lists" etc I need before tackling the R&R of the S/C when it comes back? I didn't remove it as it was already off the car and a used one in its place (used one on the car also making racket). I didn't see anything on it in the "stickys" (I may have missed it though)

It's on it's way back from Colorado now.

I shipped the SC to them via Fedex Ground ($31 from W MI to CO). I received notice it was done this last Sunday and it's on it's way back due back Friday or earlier. All in all, given shipping times eating up a week, this was a nice prompt turnaround.

I am looking forward to getting it back in the car. I've been fiddling with other cars getting things finished but I don't want to be the Jaguar owner who has two so I have one to drive while the other is in the shop lol.

Mine is on its way back too. I spoke with Mike out in Colorado for about an hour before the build. Seemed to be in good hands. Too bad I'll be gone all next week on vacation. It should be waiting for me when I get back.

Same here. I've got my XKR to fall back on; and really the only thing I don't do at home is full paint jobs and wheel alignments. I'm even building up a decent machine shop in the basement so my dad doesn't have to take parts to work to machine them.

My dad's family was what now would be called feminist. His mom, who would be in her 100s now, rode motorcycles with my grandpa (not on the back, she had her own lol). The 8 kids including my dad all rode, 6 boys and 2 girls. My aunt can kick some butt on her sportbike in her late 50s. She's got skill. They all worked on stuff too. So when I came around, my dad always figured my sister and I would work on stuff; that's just how it worked. It started with lawn mowers and my Honda 90, and progressed to cars and big bikes.

I bought my first two cars in one week in 2003, a 73 Triumph GT6 MK3 and a 97 Dodge Neon SOHC 5sp coupe. The Triumph needed everything, the Neon was immaculate w/ 61k but needed a head gasket. Both were running around in a month.

The SC is back and looks and sounds great (the play is gone; that noise, but it's not on car yet).

My dad is machining the snout Wednesday and I should be able to get this back on the car shortly. I am putting one of those 10% pulleys on.
