Default Milky wood

As some of you know, there is a pretty common issue with the wood on 2001 model
Was a bad batch manufactured and the clear coat/varnish turn cloudy/milky
I Always have noticed that if my car was parked in the sun for a long time, the wood was looking much better.
Doing some research on the cause for the milkiness, it would appear that the air moisture/humidity was too high during the manufacturing process

Using those elements, I thought that maybe if i was heating the varnish at a high enough and long enough temperature, I could maybe "evaporate" the moisture in the varnish

I preheated my oven to its lowest setting ( 150F) and checked the inside temperature and got around 170 F
I then placed 2 of my dashboard pieces in the oven for about 3 hours.
The result was fantastic, the varnish was now crystal clear
That was 2 days ago and I have left the pieces of wood outside in the cold and humidity and it's still perfect .
I will update this post in a few days/weeks but so far the result of this free "fix" is very promising

Fabulous news, Luc. I havent had the milky problem but I have noticed that the door panels on mine have cracks in the clearcoat. I live in warm temps so I have wondered if extended heat was cracking the finish. Any ideas? And what can be done about it?

I;m not sure regarding the cracks but its maybe due the a repetitive and huge swing in temperature that expend and contract the material
I got a quote of roughly $200 for a single piece from Madera Concepts ( the Jaguar official repair shop) TO renew a door or dash piece
Right now you can get an unheard off deal from jaguar on the 4 door piece in Burr walnut ( the most used trim) for about $320 landed directly from Jaguar classic in England
The 3 pieces dash in the same burr walnut is about $350 landed
Those prices only apply to the specific burr walnur
Regular price is more like $1500 to $2500
If any of you is thinking that you need new wood, do it NOW
Those parts Are for the SWB, not the LWB
dasH KIT GNC6927BC
Door kit JLM20355

There's a member here who restores the panels to OEM quality. Username is "Jag&jill" you can PM them here or I have their phone # if you request via PM as well. There are pics of his work on this website linked below.
