Lately I've noticed in the morning when I shift out of P the shifter feels mushier than it used to. By that I mean that it doesn't stiffly chunk into R, N, D, etc. I know it's a "slushbox" but this is a bit strange.

Would this be a sign of a dying transmission? My '98 XJR has about 64k miles on it.
