Default Musty Smell

My wife's nose picked up on a musty smell coming from my vents and she's not wrong...now that she pointed it out of course I smell it more too. So time to address it while the weather is still nice.

I found this older thread with some good avice, but wated to check on what products and effective methinds people are using now, not 13 years ago.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...tioning-78179/

I see basically 2 paths that might work well, either a mildew/sanitizer bomb in the car or one of the foaming treatments that goes into the inlets under the cowl. I'm inclined to think the foam solution is probably a bit better as its going to touch more of the surfaces where there might be moisture collecting and getting stinky, but does anyone have any experience with any specific products that they liked or ones to avoid? Its not an overpowering stench, but definitely there.

Couple products I found:

https://smile.amazon.com/DWD2-Protec...ps%2C76&sr=8-1

https://smile.amazon.com/Lubegard-96...ps%2C70&sr=8-1

Guessing the foam is a better option, but interested in experience and opinions please.

I beleive if I've read correctly, there are no interior cabin air filters to change, correct?

Also, I see the evap drains can clog, can anyone point me towards the drain(s) so I can check them to see if I have a pool in there as well?

Thanks!

There’s no cabin filters in this car. Some of the photos will direct you to some of your answers.

If I were you and I wasn’t willing to do the above work again, then I’d be more inclined to do the foam method. Getting both of the drains off I can’t imagine are too difficult to get to. Speaking of drains, maybe as a preventative, you should blow out the sunroof drains just in case they’re backed up and leaking water in from somewhere?? Just an idea.

Thank you sir! I am DEFINITELY not going to be following that other path, though its obviously the greatest benefit.

Foam it is!!!
