My 05 XJR
Well I picked up my 05 XJR from Tampa Astin Martin Jaguar yesterday and drove it the 80 some odd miles home. It was all I had hoped it would be. No issues.
Began detailing it this a.m. as dealer standards don't quite match mine. There is a problem with the brightwork surrounding the upper door openings. I think it's stainless steel but nevertheless it is water/weather stained. Anybody got a hot tip on how to deal with this? I tried polish but no real help there. I am hesitant to take stronger measures such as rubbing compound till I hear from you guys.
I also note that the " inside " of the insturment guage glass has durty water marks. It looks like the instrument cover was off at some time and they wiped the glass with a dirty wet rag prior to reassembly. Whats the approach to getting at the back side of this glass?
O yes. I found that the 2 drain tubes under the hood at the coweling were throughly plugged with leaves. Vacuum and air pressure required to clear them.
Do give me some feed back on the 2 questions. I will try to keep you posted on the unfolding love affare with the XJR.

Further to my 1st post I took the XJR over to my tire place as there was a slight shimmie at around 50 MPH. Right rear wheel is bent
They can send it out to be repaired for $250. Does this seem like a right price?
Re my last post, I've not heard from anybody about how to get the door surround brightwork polished. I don't know what the material is, stainless or aluminum, but it don't look so good and needs help. I'm sure it's not chrome. I went into the many threads on detailing contained herein and couldn't find the issue addressed. I'm not feeling the love here. Anybody?
