First of all - I want to apologize to the moderator team for posting this thread here... I know this is a place for XJ8 discussions but here are all my friends from the forum and I really want to show off with my new toy.
So here it is, a few days ago I bought an extraordinary piece of machinery - Mercedes-Benz S600L (W140). It's almost the last one to come out from the Stuttgart's Daimler factory from those models (based on the VIN it's produced in September 1997 and officially MB stopped the model in October same year) and it has just an incredible set of extras I've never seen or even heard about... such as: VHS player with two 7'' TV monitors on the back, refrigerator between the back seats, separated rear seats with electric control, heating and ventilation in them, OEM xenon headlights (which is so rare for those models as the xenon technology was officially introduced in Mercedes since 1997), BOSE premium audio with additional amp... plus all the other "typical" extras for S-class. All this combined with the amazing 6000 V12 engine with its 410hp... This is just a beast on the road, but at the same time so elegant and beautiful. Here is a photo I took this morning specially for our forum - my beloved Jaguar XJ8 and the new black pearl:

At least it's not a BMW.
Looks rather nice for a Mercedes.

The Jag is there, so no foul.
I've always quite liked the S600.
How are you finding juggling between RHD and LHD, in car parks I forget and open the wrong door or my passenger gets in to drive!

Tractor are the worst - no frame of reference so all ours have a big arrow on the dash to remind me which side of the road to stick to.Originally Posted by Translator

Hello Estilian,
congratulations for your new toy. One hint for future aquisitions: according to the laws of the Jaguar community you'll have to buy either a Daimler Double Six (X305 or X330 I'd say) or a Bentley next before you're eligible again for buying a non-British luxury car.

Thank you all. My neighbors are absolutely sure that I'm a drug dealer or something with all that cars in front of my home... and non of them is Volvo or Ford

My own "garage" includes my '98 Vanden Plas (U.S.) but an '86 560SEL as well. That one my son gets to drive. Utterly different cars but both good ones.
Why all the negatives on Bimmers? Personalities of their sometime aggro drivers, what? I've owned Beemers (motorcycles) and they were all pretty good machines as well.
