Default Need help. Front Marker Lights

The front bumper side marker lights have not worked since I bought the car.

Fuse for this circuit is okay. Replaced it with a new one just in case.

Removed the housings, pulled the bulbs, removed the metal clips from the plugs so I could clean the connections, etc.

Cleaned all contacts with electronics cleaner.

Reassembled everything, added dielectric grease to the inner connections (the part that is inaccessible unless you take the clips off), and put in brand new bulbs (even though old bulbs looked good).

Now they both work, BUT, they work differently!

The driver side blinks with the turn signal, and is otherwise "OFF".

The passenger side lights up with the headlights, but does NOT blink.

What the heck?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Do I need an exorcist or an electrician?

I did add fender repeaters / signal lights to the car recently. The front bumper side lights did not work before I did the install, and did not work until today's cleaning of the contacts.

I DID tap into the front left bumper signal and ran that wire to the LEFT repeater. The right repeater was plug and play.

Could tapping into the left front bumper turn signal and adding the fender light cause this?

I am out of ideas, and yes, I did search on this subject.

I'm tempted to just cut the wires to the right side light and tap it into the front left signal. That said, that would be my LAST resort.

I'd really rather have this functioning correctly without duct tape, bailing wire, and WD-40

Uh, you have wired it wrongly. Remove the repeater (?) and unplug the righside and see if they work

Just undid both repeaters and no change.

Left side blinks with signal. Off otherwise.

Right side on with headlights. Does not blink.

It does not appear that anyone has altered the stock wiring.

This is strange.

I forgot to ask.

What are these lights supposed to do:

Blink only with the signals?

Stay on steady with the headlights?

Don't know what the correct function is supposed to be.

are all the bulbs replaced the same draw on the circuit? you'd get a fast flash sound and bulb out warning if something isn't working on it, so it's wiring.

Undo the repeaters back to normal and see what behaviour you get.

They should stay steady and not blink I'm led to understand. What does the manual say?

I removed the right plug & play repeater, and removed the piggybacked wiring I did to the left front turn signal, and nothing changed.

Left side only lights up to blink.

Right side only lights steady with headlights.

No trouble lights.

All bulbs and fuses okay.

So, I said to heck with it and set it up how I want it to work.

I had a choice of having the front bumper side lights to be either:

a) parking lights that light up solid with the headlights, or

b) turn signal lights that flash with the turn signals.

I like having them as signal lights, so that is what they ALL are now.

I cut the right light and tapped it into the right front signal light.

Dunno if it is "correct" but at least everything functions the same.

I have no warning lights, and it all works just fine.

Thanks for the input guys!
