Hi all, sadly yesterday my 2003 X308 with 86K miles on it blew its transmission with a P1722 code. Most likely the forward drum problem.

I'm looking to get some quotes for repair of the trans before i decide if i scrap the car or not, i'd really prefer not to but it has to economically justifiable to "her indoors".

I've had one estimate from the Jaguar deaker in San Diego for a new tranny at $8.5K!! and one quote over the phone from Coventry Jag in San Diego for $3500 to repair/rebuild.

I live in Escondido in the North County but work in San Diego (Kearney Mesa), can any members recommend any repair shops in either area that they've used for this tranny issue and what they paid? I've seen quotes on the forums for $1500 to $2000 which would be preferable to $3500 of course.
