The New Guy
Hey, I'm new to the british car world. Up to this point, all cars been mostly German (Benzes/Bimmers) or half German (Chrysler 300).
I'm scheduled to pick up a 2000 Jag Xj8 Vanden Plas next week with 49K on the clock. Silver/black interior. Dont worry I read the reviews and checked it out. Timing chain problem of the 1998-2000? no different than the Benzes I've owned. Heard they upgraded tensioner for late 1999 and 2000 and then they came out with a mostly metal tensioner later.
I guess I'll get to the point. I cant find anything right now I would like to change except I wonder if there is a good spot to get new headliner material. Due to the heat of El Paso, and it seems to be common problem, the headliner is sagging slightly in the back. It's barely noticeable so far. Has anyone tried that alcacantra material instead?
And what is a good leather condtioner for the seats that will maintain that jaguar smell or at least a good leather smell? Leather is still soft and near perfect condition but wont be for long without good condtioner in these desert summers.

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of Jaguar! Silver/black is a great color compination! Post pictures.
There are a couple on-line suppliers of headliner cloth that do a good job of matching fabric and colors. Headliner sagging is a common situation.
About half of the posters swear by Leatherique brand products, others split among all the competitors.
