It seems to be the same as your problem. The Youtube video at the end starting around 8:25 mark explains the solenoid sticking problem and shows how to replace it. It is for a rear door, but I bet the mechanism is the same for the front.

 

Thanks Craig, the solenoid is indeed shot. I'll source one and replace. For now, the door remains unlocked :-)
