New XJR Owner Here
Hey guys just bought (last Saturday) the XJR I always wanted I recently had some money left over from my car flipping and found a Black 2000 XJR I've always wanted one of them and now I finally bought one. I'm sure through the many members on here I can learn a lot and have some great fun with my Jag. I'm an older Jag owner and have a Series 1 3.8 E Type and also a 3.8 Mark X among many many other older Brit vehicles, but this is my first newer Jag. I love it except for the second day I owned it the drivers window motor stopped working hahaha. I'm sure I'll get to know many of you and perhaps meet some new friends. I'm located in San Bruno in Northern California. Thanks. I'll post some pics when I finally wax it up and the weather clears up.

Welcome to the forum,
I certainly would not have bought/could not have bought my 2 2002 XJs (one XJ8 and one XJR) if it was not for all the help I get from this forum.
We, in the San Francisco Bay Area, have recently started a small club and meet about every month at different locations. That thread is here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/w...ay-area-36205/

Fixed the window motor with the help of the search function here and performed a reset of the electrical system. Still some other little issues I'm going to try to deal with but going to be making separate threads for those. Having a lot of fun with this thing already did valve cover gaskets and plugs last night very easy and stopped a big leak. Also found out my car has the third generation tensioners, big sigh of relief.

Congrats! You'll love the car. Nothing like having a proper British supersaloon which is knocking on the door of 400hp for relatively little cash outlay. I have an '00 myself which is about to roll over 217K and just had all chains, guides and tensioners replaced (for the first time!!). I was fortunate to find it in the hands of the original owner who was incredibly diligent on maintenance and gave me a literal telephone book full of maintenance records from both the dealer and a great Jag indie.
Just before we did the chains, I had all upper and lower ball joints replaced, along with a new steering rack. Everything works properly on the car and it's an absolute ball to drive. I formerly had a six cylinder R, which was also a fantastic car, but the V8 is really hard to top. For the first time ever, I can honestly say that I have a car which is as comfortable after a 10 hour drive as it was before--and this is coming from someone who's had newer Range Rovers, modern Bentleys (well, Turbo Rs) and the like. Nothing is like the Jag for munching highway miles.
