If your throttle response is not what you think it should be. Try adjusting the throttle cable at the throttle body. There are post on that you can search for. Best of luck with your 99. My wife's 99XJ8L has been a service free car for the last 10+ years. Outside of the first two weeks when all three of the problem areas on the 4.0 V8 were taken care of under the extended warranty.
