Alright this is a bit of a strange one. Yesterday after going to a movie I noticed my 2001 Jaguar XJ8 just didn't sound right when I started it. It was making a fairly loud "humming?" noise. This would increase with acceleration. I drove home and popped the hood and it smelt like a hot glue gun. Very strange smell. I've attached a photo of the passenger side of the engine where I found something leaking, not sure where it's coming from yet.

I've had a lot of work done on this car including a transmission repair ($3,000). I did some googling and a lot of other cars have experienced a hot glue gun smell, and some point to the gearbox. Please tell me this isn't gearbox related.

Any thoughts??
