99 xjr was making a rattle/clunking sound then left me stranded in da middle of the road..checked all the regularr stuff then come to find out that the sec chain on drivers bank broke n tensioner came apart...i have the new chain n tensioner but my ? is with both valve covers off i turn the engine over by hand to line up the cams with the tool only to find out that piston #1 still has alil to go before actually being on TDC is this right?? thanks

 

There is no usable relationship between TDC of any piston and cam timing.
