I can't help with your non ethanol question except to say that there are plenty of xj8s driving every day with 10% ethanol- thats all we have in a lot of markets.

Non ethanol gas is quickly going the way of leaded gas. The suppliers out there who have been supplying gas w/o ethanol just can't get it. We lost it last month at our shop. On a car made to run on it that isn't a problem but ethanol is 1/2 the reason I'm replacing the engine in the TVR. The other is an extra 145 horses.

I believe the only non ethanol available in Michigan is race gas or AV gas. Either should not be run in a Jag due to the lead contained in the fuel.

FWIW, here's a link to some pics of actual parts that have been damaged due to ethanol.

The EPA has banned MTBE as an oxygenation agent in gasoline. The only alternative was ethanol. As you have noticed ethanol is not an efficient fuel / additive and it has dropped my MPG by as much as 2 MPG depending on my vehicle. You will be hard pressed to find it other than in the less populated cities in the west and south.

So does anyone have ANY indication of failed JAGUAR parts due to ethanol?
