Obd readers
I have on my 2002 XK8 a recurring restricted performance mode. The codes are always the same & defiantly are not the reason for the restriction. The car at some point has a front end impact. Not particularly severe no damage to the chassis just bumpers & valence. But the CPU despite clearing the fault occasionally goes into Restricted mode. Each time this happens back to the garage, diagnosed same fault codes, (left & right banks out of balance
) reset, & fine for months. So rather that keep going back to the garage is like to buy a diagnostic & reset reader. So looking for suggestions for a reasonably priced machines?

If you search the forum for scanners you will find many recommendations. Both Foxwell and Autel have units that can read and delete codes. Maybe you will even try to repair the fault that is causing the restricted performance.
Make sure you get one that not only reads the generic OBD code, but also the Jaguar and your type specific codes! There are more of those of a Jaguar than the generic ones.
I have an Autel, it works well, including quite a few live data measurements, which can be very handy.
