On my 01 XJR,

At times under light throttle it will shift harsh into second gear. Doesn't do it very often, maybe once during an hour or so of driving around town but when it does it you definitely feel it, almost slams into gear. I haven't seen any flashing messages on the dash but do you think if I pulled the codes I might find one that may help pinpoint the problem?

I have the same problem and no codes here...does it happen in both S and normal mode?

 

It can't happen in "S" as the tranny starts in 2nd
