Default outside door handle notworking 100 percent

Hi, anyone familiar with the outside door handle on the x308 ?
My driver's door worked ok until a few weeks ago and then the outside handle broke - so I ordered a used one from ebay (almost the same color too).
Installed it today, I couldn't get the plastic connector off the bottom so I removed the handle from the outside of the door.
installed the new one also from the outside - everything seemed to go ok - the door does open and close from the new handle BUT after re-install I now have two issues:
  1. the new handle is very stiff to open and the handle stays up after the door opens - I have to push it back down the spring isn't strong enough to pull it back
  2. Also now my driver's window won't roll down (all other windows go down and up from the driver's door - I am attaching images or maybe a video if I can - mp4 won't upload but video should show the silver part of the handle lifting up to open the door but then staying up until I push it back down)

Any thoughts or help appreciated

Concerning your situation, I believe that all of the issues people have with the interior(mostly door cable) and exterior(door handle) stem from the actual door lock/latch assembly inside the door is the main problem. The door latch really needs to be throughly cleaned, dried and lubricated (not WD40) with the proper grease. As the years go by, the grease hardens up and flakes away which makes it operate with a lot more effort. That excess effort is applied to the interior door cable/handle and exterior door handle. Your situation could be an adjustment issue and/or the latch needing the above for mentioned procedures done to it.

Thanks addicted - the door was working fine 2 weeks ago - before the original handle broke, so I am inclined to think I made a mistake putting the new one. It was fidgety trying to get it in from outside the door, lots of twisting and trying different angles. ---- also window now doesn't go down

There are a lot of pitfalls when doing door handle work. The design is intricate
and highly dependent on correct sequence of reinstallation. That may just be my
own personal experience.
