Default Drivers Door Handle

So I went to open my door as usual, and the drivers side handle lifts, but there is no tension behind it, and the door does not open. The door still locks, and can be opened from the inside, however the outside handle is useless. Is this an easy fix please?

Hi,

I have just done this exact job myself two weeks ago. I'd say its medium rated job, mainly because it is very 'fiddly' to get the actuating rods clipped back in place. I attach a few pictures I took, not to easy to visualize/relate to the handle however, gives you an idea how tight room is!

I also attach a picture of the broken handle so you know what you need to replace....

Not a hard job, remove the door panel to get to the handle. It could be that the linkage is popped out, the clip the linkage goes into is broken, or the door handle itself is broken.

Unless you popped the door after locking yourself out, its unlikely the linkage just popped out and nothing is wrong. My guess is the clip broke or your door handle is broken. When this happen on my XJS it was the door handle itself, the arm is cheap pot metal that can only be stressed so much. Either way, pretty easy fix. Remove/replace door handle or replace the clip.
