Default Passenger door ajar

All of a sudden my “passenger door ajar” light will not go out….and the car is beeping when I try and remotely lock it. I can still lock with key though.
Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Scott, it sounds like you have a bad microswitch in your door lock assembly. If you open the door and using a thin screwdriver, you could try opening and closing the latch with the screwdriver in one hand and using your other hand to keep the door handle in the open position while operating the latch multiple times. I suppose you could try a hard reset just for the fun of it to see if that helps but, if it doesn’t, you’ll need to remove the door lock assembly and either clean/lubricate the internal mechanism or see if the microswitch is loose.

If you started it up at night but left the headlights in the off position, you should see a puddle light in the interior door panel still lit up. I suppose it depends if that puddle light bulb isn’t burned out also.

Thank you for the “puddle light” trick….although it WAS burned out, when I replaced the bulb, it still didn’t come on. The other two were triggering when I engaged the latch, so I knew it was the one.
Thanks again, you’re always of great help!
Scott
