Monday I went for a short drive. The first 8 mi or so I smelled a gas odor. It went away so I thought nothing of it. Thinking it may have been a car next to me in traffic. Then yesterday my engine light came on. I was able to activate my FIXd app and it determined I had a lean condition on bank 1 and 2. The incident date was the day before. I reset the code and drove the rest of the day just fine. The question is Im assuming both incidents are related. Is my issue with the mass air flow sensor? Should I take it out and clean it? Can a dirty air filter cause this? I have to belive the air sensor sent an erroneous message and gas smell was a mixture issue at start up. This has happened before (The smell) but not the engine light) Also at start up my idol is a little rough. Not much but is settles down within a couple of minutes. Is this related? Also FIXd suggests a vacuum leak. But wouldn't that be content?

I just had this problem and mine turned out to be 3 different small vacuum leaks in combination with a MAFS that was a little flaky. Are you able to see live data with the app you have? If so, what are your Long and Short Fuel Trims (LTFT and STFT) at idle? And yes, your idle problem is probably related.
