My power antenna is a bit finicky and I don't really like the look of it when it is extended. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with an alternative? Would disconnecting it cause significant issues with the quality of radio reception?

 

Disconnecting it would cause very adverse effects on reception. They do make those hidden antenna things for street rods that you can hide anywhere in the car. I put a new mast on my Vanden Plas a while back. It is very very tall

 

Yes our antennas are the longest ever...probably due to all the highy ness of the UK and lots of radio listeners...
