Default Power source in the trunk / trunk cooler

I got PMed about how I had wired up my trunk cooler in my XJR, ie

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...pictureid=1565

Here is the info :

In the trunk, under the false floor, in front of the battery there is a loose connector with 3 wires going to it. From the wiring diagrams this connector is simply referred to as the Trunk Accessory Connector, ie

The 3 wires are :

Brown/Green --> +12V constant. Fed directly from Fuse 17 (10A) in the LH Heelboard fusebox
Blue/Yellow --> Switched +12V from accessories relay in trunk fuse box
Black --> Ground

I used Brown/Green and Black. Although the circuit is fused anyway, I added another inline fuse just in case. I used female spade connectors to connect, which fit straight on after I had removed the plastic insert that was on the end of the Trunk Accessory Connector loom.

I bought one of these 12V adaptors..

..cut the end off and wired it to the Brown/Green and Black wires. (The tip of a cigarette lighter adaptor is the +ve and the outer casing is the ground). I ran the wires behind the gas tank cover up to the top of the trunk.

I chose this cooler...

...mainly becasue it can cool and heat, and it also has a battery sensor which will switch the cooler off if it senses your battery is going flat.

Perfect set up for transporting beer, chinese takeaways or live organs :-)

I could do with something like this to keep my Take Aways warm! A cold Chicken Korma or a Tepid tikka masala isn't too good! I may try something similar! SARC you are a very clever person!
