Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone with more knowledge and experience in these matters can advise me. I recently purchased a 2002 xj8 which, unfortunately only came with one key. I have purchased a cut key and a new ID48 chip, which I have fitted into same. In the past I have successfully programmed earlier X308's with the ID13 chip, and also X350's (the former using IDS and the latter using SDD). However, when I tried to program this transponder (which automatically opens IDS, this being an older vehicle) I get an error message saying operation is not supported.

Will this programming entail visiting a main dealer (or local locksmith with suitable equipment) or is there another way to get this second key
programmed ? Am I missing something on the SDD/IDS ?

Any advice would be most welcome. Many Thanks
