Question about locking doors
I realize this may sound like a ridiculously stupid question to ask, but I've only owned my 2000 XJR for a single day. How do I power lock the doors when I park the car and get out?
My key fob does not work, I put in a new battery and tried to program it. I got the car in programing mode but it did not recognize the key fob. Still need to trouble shoot that but I suspect I need a new key fob.
So I can't just lock the doors with the key fob. I can lock and unlock the doors with the button on the center console but only when the car is on, and the door is closed. If I lock the car before turning it off, all four doors unlock when I pull the door handle, to get out.
For now I've reaching over the seats and manually locking the doors from the inside when I get out, quite annoying as you can imagine.
I feel really silly having to ask this question, but is there something obvious that I am missing here, or is there some quirky way the Jag door locks work that I just don't know about yet?
