Default Rear bumper mount - bolt and spacer

Hi everyone,

I've just found out my RHS rear bumper mounting has all but disintegrated. I can find the bumper mounting locally (I'm in Sydney, Australia), however I'm having trouble sourcing the bolt and spacer.

Are there any alternatives or temporary fixes I can use? It'll be a little while before I can get them delivered and wondered if the bolt is a standard size and if the spacer is easily substituted?

So, are both mounts bad to where you can't use them for reference? Here's part #'s and pics....

From SNG Barratt England, be sure to scroll down, they list (2) bumper spacers... https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#...rnedDown=false

At least you'll have something to somewhat compare with.

No, the other mount is intact, however my car is at the panel shop (some distance) away. I've noticed lots of people mentioning that the bolt/spacer can be extremely difficult to remove, so I was just seeing if anyone had any bolt sizing that may help me.

Heck, I'd ask the panel shop if they could get you the size of that bolt, they should be up for it. Don't any of the recycle yards in Sydney have any 308's? Most likely XK's & S Types would work as well.

I spoke to the panel shop and they've informed me that while the right-hand bumper mount had all but disintegrated, the bolt and spacer were still there - yay for small victories!

I'm a 5.5hr drive from Sydney and, for some reason, the wreckers here don't have many 308s (or similar) - most of the time it costs the same to get a new part from JLR UK than it does to get a used part in Australia - and that's including a 4 day (DHL) courier.

Damn, that's too bad. There's a member who wrecked his here in the States and is parting it out in the Marketplace. So, I checked with the postal service and DHL on shipping and both were outrageous....like 10x more than the parts. I knew you wouldn't want to go that route. Seems you could fab the parts cheaper down under.

Yeah, it's always a challenge to get used/OEM parts here - maybe we didn't have as many Jags (per capita) coming into Australia as you did in the US. Oh well, at least my bumper mount is sorted!

Hope you're safe and sound and managed to find somewhere safe while Milton passed.

While I visited Sydney (twice) I didn't really notice many Jags at all.
Perth had a few, as did Brisbane. Holdens seemed to be plentiful.
Having a rare car, where there are few parts has to be a pain. We
are very glad you got what you needed!
