Default Quick favor: bumper bolt picture

Reassembling my 83 after paint & body. Trying to figure out how the metal rear bumper goes back on. Two big bolts, each with a spacer and a nut, hold the bumper in place, but the photos I took during disassembly do not provide enough explanation (lesson learned).

If someone would be so kind as to take a photo of the underside of their rear bumper, I would greatly appreciate it. I do believe it needs to be pre-facelift since I think the designed changed in 92. Photo of the area/angle I need a picture of for reference:

Thanks!

Anderson

Also worth adding: it shouldn’t matter if the black bumper cover is still in place, I ought to be able to see what I need regardless.

Thanks for the effort Mac Allen, but those are the bumper cover screws. There are two large nuts on the underside of the bumper that should be visible. Those are what hold the metal bumper to the mounting struts (probably not what they’re called but that’s what I’m calling them). The picture I posted doesn’t have the nut, but where is the bolt protrudes there would be one.

Thanks, Do you know if that is pre-facelift?

Yes it is an HE in the diagram. So (going by Mac’s last photo just above) it looks like the spacer goes inside the bumper beam, between it and the “energy absorbing strut”.

This angle might be more helpful. That spacer acts like a thread protector for the bolt.
