Question Which relay is R4??

I want to check the fuel pump relay to make sure it's OK. The owner's handbook identifies it as R4 in the panel that's in the trunk. Accompanying that description is a picture of the panel, with the relays numbered R7 on the far right, and the rest of them R1.... R1 and R6 are not used on the regular XJ8
So, which one would be R4? I'm gonna guess and say the second from the right is R6 and the lower left corner is R1? In which case R4 is the middle one of the three in a row??

You'll want to bookmark this... JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
...from that, there is this electrical guide... http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Auto.../jagxj1999.pdf
...from that, here's a screen shot to assist you... I left the trim on it so you'd see the table of contents and on those you can scroll over what your looking for and prompt it....(you can't do it on this screen shot, but can on the electrical guide).

Excellent! Thanks!! I thought it was probably that one, but didn't want to enter a guessing game.
I'm replacing the fuel pump, filter screen, and fuel filter and also siphoning out the 20+ gallons of 6-year-old skunky gas in the tank. Figured I should check the relay as well while I'm in there...

Whenever I replace a fuel pump I also pry the relay apart and check the contacts for BURNT.
Replace the relay if it is damaged so as not to damage the new pump with a poor connection.
I also carry a 'jumper-wire' with 1/4" male spade terminals in the fuse/relay box in case a relay fails.
