Removing subs from the rear deck to allow more bass into the cabin!¡
I have a 2018 Jaguar XJ R-sport. With these European vehicles the trunk's are sealed pretty good so its harder for bass to enter the cabin. My first idea was to remove the subs from the rear shelf and to build a bandpass enclosure for my 2 12" skar vxf subs to be ported through those empty holes. So I took my car to one of my trusted audio stores and they agreed that the idea was actually legit. But after they did measurements they said that building a 4th order enclosure would take up all the space in my trunk. I couldn't agree on sacrificing the 'entire' trunk so I asked for other suggestions. He said I could still remove speakers from rear shelf and build a custom bass reflex enclosure with the ports firing towards the empty holes. So basically same concept using a different sub enclosure. I gave them the go ahead to start. It took 3 days for them to do all the wiring, and building the custom bass reflex enclosure. And the results my friends are insane. The sound is truly incredible and you can feel the bass in your chest. So did removing those rear shelf speakers make a huge difference? In my honest opinion...... Hell yes!!!!
Sorry partner, nice project but wrong forum... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...ls-current-12/
