Replacing OBD connector using '99 dash harness; issues??
Hi All,
I have a OBD connector on my 2000 XJ8 that is not communicating with the ECM module to read the monitors. Interestingly the Jaguar reader (Autologic) can read the monitors but the APPLUS reader the smog people use can't. Tried everything including cloning the ECM module but still getting the awful "link error" message. I believe I have a problem with the connector/wiring as I had used a 2001 wiring harness to correct a ground issue previously and didn't check the OBD connector till now.
So, does anyone know if there were jag changes to the pin assignments or other changes that would interfere with the OBD connector on the '99 wiring harness functioning properly. The interface protocol is ISO. I don't want to go through the aggravation (have done it several times with success) of making the swap if there is a design issue between '99 - 03 wiring harnesses.
Thanks!
Bill
