Anyone know of a shop that resolders boards on a driver's seat module? I think the board that sends a signal to the power seat control on the side of the seat is out. There are two boards? The one linked to the memory seat power pack and steering wheel is working. But if I found the right shop, I'd have them look at both.

Separately, is soldering the way to go? Or is there a better way to do this. Coventry West has a used one for $250. Ebay has some for far less.

All suggestions welcome.

You could just swap the one from the passenger seat as an alternative.

Worth trying to see if it does the trick.

But then the pass side control will not work, right?

Swapping the seat modules would be a test to verify if the seat or the module is at fault.

By chance, have you checked for a blown fuse first? I know the seat fuses are in the heel board fuse boxes but not sure which one. If you check your owners manual, it’ll tell you which fuse it is.

I forgot how much fun that was. I had a driver seat that would go down and would not come back up this was the problem easy fix but a pain to get to to

Vonnslingo,

Were there programming issues when you swapped a used moduie into your car? Mine is a 2001 XJ8. Do I have to find a module from that year and other requirements?

I believe I took mine out a different years cars one was a 2000 and one was a 2001 it did not make a difference I don’t believe there’s a difference between right or left because that was my first exchange I tested the passenger seat module first and then I’ve got a donor to put in it it came out of a blue car and went into a silver one .If I had to do it again I might disconnect the battery this time but that didn’t even seem to matter good luck

One thing other was the seat was in the down position and that made it very difficult I remember I had to take the cable out and hook it to a cordless drill to get the seat to come back up by using the drill is the motor then I can get it in position to where I can unbolt it and tilt it back and get to the module
