Hey, I'm closing in on an '03 XJR-R. Could have it by weeks end. Had no luck with an initial search for a roof mounted carrier system. Thule's website has nothing listed for these XJ series cars either. This might even be a deal-breaker as it is important for me to carry my bikes that way.

I've searched this forum too. Nothing is coming up!

I tracked down a cyclist I sort of knew from years ago who carried a bike on top of his XJ. He has since sold the car but remembered that the XJ has gutters along the roof and are part of the window trim. These are easy to fit a non-specific gutter mount rack tower to.
This is great news in two parts:
First, I am one step closer to buying the 03 I've had my eye on, and
With this type of roof system, there is no contact with body paint, just chrome or metal (no scratches!)
This guy's car I saw years ago with bike gear up top actually inspired me to buy the one that I am looking at now.
