Seeing as it's coming towards that time of year again, I've had a go at firing some dynax spray into the chassis but was wondering if anyone has any tips on where to point the long wand type attachment around the car? I've already done the inside of the chassis legs by drilling a 5mm hole, which saves me having to remove the bumper in future hopefully.
The dynax spray looks suspiciously like motor bike chain lube.
Hello - which Dynax are you using - I recommend S60 (I think!) it's been a while.
I'd suggest doing behind the front shocks, panel gaps. Also the sill ends at the rear, a kind of small triangle plate capping the inner sill space on each side.
Front bulkhead - you'll need to remove the scuttle cover and literally blast the stuff in and around - Jaguar did a less than ideal job with window water management.
Shultz do an excellent stone chip - epoxy based spray cans make it a bit easier, but surfaces need to be clean
Any visible rust can be treated with Dynax Oxy8 - it stops it dead.
Jaguar Gave them 6 years, so any XJ 308 running round in the UK is 3 times out of body warranty.
A couple of areas coming up on MOT 's are seat belt floor anchors and front shock mount points (not the plate that bolts to the body, it's the panels that sit under it.)
Bilt Hamber products leave Wax Oil in the 20th century, smelly thick goo that I've never really got on with, with Dynax it gets in where wax oil cannot.
Good luck with keeping tin worm at bay, obviously the best way is to store it until after the frosts!
Sean, I used dynax S50. I think it's just a mix of old oil and petrol style propellant but it dries quickly enough. I think two cans would be enough as an initial hit. Over the summer I addressed that nasty area around the front subframe so didn't really have to redo that.
Worked from the front to the back under the car. Some method seems to help I think. Used the normal spray nozzle initially, then followed up with the internal wand. Used the wand on the holes in the rails underneath and in the holes in the inner wing.
The floor pan plugs "knock out" holes were beginning to get quite crusty, so they got special attention. Think I'll need to get the welding gear out again next year.
As an fyi, that dynax can needs to be turned upside down to fully use up the contents. There's a good amount left in it otherwise.
I hadn't ever heard of oxy8 so I'll give that a go soon too. Thanks for the tip!
Reminds me of the Forth Rail Bridge. :-)

Reason: Terminology
I pulled back seat bottom on my 01 and got access to inner rockers,as they were the first place to rot out were the rocker panels on my 96 xj6.i plugged drain holes ,then i used around 4 gallons[per side] of black rustolium paint to flood them then unplugged the drain holes;reclaimed paint with cardboard trough and put back in cans for next job
