Default Serious Juddering under braking

Any suggestions.

I am getting serious juddering through the car under braking. Changed front disks and pads three weeks ago but no improvement.

I'm thinking either caliper or suspension bushes.

Cheers

Is it a juddering from side to side felt in the steering? Or is it a forwards backwards juddering?

It appears to be mainly forwards to backwards but there is an element of side to side too.possibly becauser the juddering is pretty strong - brake pedal feels as though the ABS has kicked in but it hasn't.

Hi
Take a look at this Front caliper problem forum thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...problem-72879/

Mentions shuttering while braking and caliper piston not working properly.

Another forum thread mentions - caliper pins could be gunked up or rusted causing the almighty wheel judder.

When was the last time a brake fluid flush was done to your vehicle? Maybe you need to flush the brake lines and bleed the brake system.

I would suggest to do the following test.

Jack up and secure the car on jack stands, then unload the suspension, by taking the pump jack and compress the shock/spring. Not by much, let say a inch or so.

The grab the front tire at 9 & 3 o'clock position and see if you can wiggle the tire. NOT THE CAR, just the tire. If you have play, you have tie rod/steering components that need replacing.

Now, grab the tire at 12 & 6 o'clock and wiggle the tire, if you have play, the wheel bearing need replacing.

To see how to do it, search youtube for wheel bearing tire wiggle test. It may be for another car brand, but the procedures are the same.
