I recently purchased an 01 xj8 vp. I need to replace the front shock mounts and I'm given 2 different diameters for the shock threads. The acs calls for a 7/16 diameter and the non acs calls for 3/8 diameter. What is the difference between the sizes as I can't see any notable difference other than the size.

The Damptronic shocks should have wires coming out of them. No wires, get the std. mounts.
