Default How To Mount rear "High Mount" Brake Light 2001 XJ8

DEAR Jaguar FOLKS,

My 2001 was parked in the sunlight for several years by its previous owner and the plastic on the rear "high mount" center brake light crumbled to pieces, I have a new one that works, but my mechanic doesnt know how to correctly mount the light to the back glass, and the online jaguar parts center didnt have any ideas either.....anybody can help?

JB Epoxy bond or Permatex 5 Min Plastc Weld works -- nothing else does. But be careful, it ca get sloppy.

What was the best price and where for the new unit?

Mine, too, fell off. After bonding it back it rattled, trying to stop the rattle, it broke: bonded the parts back together, which held, but ugly and the cover won't stay attached w/o rattling its a off.

Reminded of Chad's signature:

"If it ain't broke, I haven't touched it..."

I used rear view mirror adhesive to re attach the two mounting tabs. The next day I mounted the brake light assembly. It just slides onto those mounting pads, tabs, whatever. Be sure you have them properly oriented. Good luck
