Default slow tire leak

I have the 8j x 18 Asteroid wheels that are fitted with Michelin Pilot tires. The one at the front passenger location is slowly leaking air. I drive this jag about 40 miles twice a month. Every third drive I must add approximately 10-12 pounds of air to the tire. I took it to a tire shop. They submerged it completely in a tub of water. No bubbles were visible. The mechanic suggested the leak may only show up when the weight of the car is on it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to seal this leak? I am assuming it may be leaking around the bead. They are chrome wheels. I have heard they are sometimes difficult to seal. I could use the spare tire/wheel, but it's not as nice as the other four. Thank you in advance for any ideas that would fix this leaking tire. Louis

I chased a very slow leak for a year and it turned out to be corrosion on the wheel at the valve stem. Pulled the valve stem out, it had been replaced with new tires, cleaned the hole from both sides with a drill motor mounted wire brush. New valve stem fixed it.

I think test point is on it- If you dismount the tire, clean the bead, and replace the valve sttem, which should all happen for about $15.00, I bet the problem goes away.

Thank you test point and sparkenzapp. I have new valve stems. I can get a tire shop to dismount the tire. I'll bring the tire and wheel home and clean the wheel.

A proper shop should clean both the rims and the valve stem hole with any tire change on an aluminum wheel. Ellijay Tire does as a mater of course in case you want to drop by.
