Just a thought really, does anyone else find their rear lights slightly small for the car's rear end and even a bit dim?
Maybe I'm just comparing with more modern cars, but I find the set up at the back not quite up to scratch for the size of the car, almost making it look like a couple of bulbs are out.
That said, am I missing a bulb in the usual UK set up?
Jaguar x308 rear lights, just the normal lights on, not brake or fogs etc
Jaguar did it on purpose, I presume for design reasons.
The exact same rear light housing was used for the X300, which had the reflector (the one between the fog and the rear light) fitted with a bulb.
On the X308, that hole is closed in the housing, but on the bulb-plate, there is still a recess for the bulb, but no wiring.
I retrofitted it to the X300 design, by drilling a hole in the housing, and fabricating the wiring.
I indeed like the look better, but can always revert as I have a spare set of housings.
If you want to spare yourself the hassle of making those bulb guides, source a set of x300 bulb holders. You will still need to bridge the contacts, but it is much easier.
