I need to replace front doors speakers on my 2001 VDP - Alpine system. What size should I get (I found contradicting answers), is it a direct plug & play replacement, do I need a mounting ring and a good link for where to get them. Thank you

 

this might not be the exact information you are looking for, but a factory replacement comes in at $65 from this dealership near washington DC

then on the next page you will see a list of categories on the left side, pick "console" then it takes you to another menu where you can pick "sound system" then choose "speaker" then choose "Front door"

I ordered a new parcel shelf subwoofer speaker from them and so far so good, it is an OEM alpine speaker replacement.

Thank you JaguarXJR02. The problem with the link you posted is that they have standard and premium systems listed. Which one is mine? I got the Alpine system...should be premium, right?

 

You've got the premium system.
(according to the pictures of the eBay auction).

I don't know if the size of the premium speakers is the same as of the standard system, so the following information might not be suitable for your VDP.

Before I changed my speakers I took measurements of the speakers...

I have the standard sound system with no amp in the trunk and no tweaters in the a-column.
I exchanged all 4 door speakers to Magnat 2-ways and I am VERY happy with the outcome!!

I used Magnat XTR 216 and they are a perfect fit!
