I have this original sticker from the first owner on the bumper of the car. It's directly on the paint. I've had mixed opinions from folks but let me know if you guys have any feedback on best way to remove the thing.
Generally, and depending on the adhesive, I try to peel it off with my fingernails, or at least get it to start.
Then, I use "Goof off" to get the adhesive to weaken using paper towels. After a little while the adhesive
will start to weaken and it can be peeled off. Then clean the residue off with the same method.
First, the secret is heat: do NOT try to remove this sticker unless you heat the surface (a hairdryer is perfect for this) - if you do, you will scratch or otherwise damage the paint surface (which is on the trunk lid per your photo, not the bumper).
Once heated, the sticker can be gently pried away from the paint using your finger nail until there is a large enough tab of the sticker to grip. At this point, reheat the sticker surface again and slowly peal the sticker back.
Once it is removed there is likely to still be some residue on the paint which can easily be removed by wd40 or similar product.
It is important to end by waxing the paint surface after the sticker is removed.
I’ve used an eraser wheel in a Chuck of a cordless drill that’s designed to remove decals or pinstripes with great success. The downfall is that given the cars age, the paint under the sticker is likely in much better shape than the rest of the trunk or the car for that matter.
I'd have written the same as sov111 above:
Use a hairdryer of heat gun to prepare the sticker-removal by fingernails. Eventual sticker residue can be removed with Isopropyl Alcohol or similar (e.g. White Spirit).
And then polish the car on that spot with car-polish.
I think Addicted2boost mentioned what is most likely? You will have no trouble removing the sticker but you will have a round spot of shiny paint compared to the surrounding area. Now you paint looks very good so maybe a bit of mild rubbing/polishing compound with a power tool will fix that. You won't know how noticeable it will be until the sticker is removed.
But I must say that is a cool looking sticker compared to the other dealer stickers I have seen.

+1. This is what I would do as well, but be careful not to get the paint too hot from friction. Don't dwell too long in one place with the eraser, and pause to let it cool if you need to. You can even use a wet rag to cool the surface. Then if needed, apply some rubbing compound to try to brighten up the paint around it to match the "new" paint under the sticker.
