Default Strange place to have seat adjustment buttons

Here's a strange one or is it, my v8 LWB Sovereign has the normal seat adjustment on the side of the seats where they all are, but on the back of the passenger seat is another button to move the seat forwards and backwards and recline, if someone is sitting on the back seat they can have a bit of fun with the front seat passenger, has anyone else got this feature on there car?

I think all Long wheel base have them, not sure on the short versions.
As the LWB was often chauffeured, it allowed the "capo" in the rear to move the passenger seat out of the way while relaxing.

The North American VDP versions usually have that feature but both of my XJ8L do NOT have it.

I have not seen it on a Short Wheelbase car.

As others have said it’s intended for chauffeur use, either for the rear seat passenger to move it or for the chauffeur themselves to move the seat from the driver’s seat. I had it on my last XJ8 which was SWB but the interior was from a Daimler Super V8.

I’m on the lookout for the switches as I’d like the switches actually because I’d like to fit them to my current car. I used the switches a lot for moving the seat for passengers who couldn’t fathom out the master seat controls. LOL

Are you sure yours is a LWB Sovereign and not a LWB Vanden Plas?

The VDP has the following distinctive features: piping on the leather seats as well as chromed door handles/door mirrors and fluted grill and fluted chromed boot plinth; lastly the veneered picnic tables mounted behind the front seats.

We didn't get the VDP in the UK we had Sovereign as the top spec Jaguar. Then for the VDP spec we had Daimler Super V8 which had the VDP spec and a lot more besides.
