Default suggestions for wheel touchup paint?

Has anyone got suggestions for spray paints to touchup
Jaguar wheels? In particular the Asteroids.

Keep the suggestions coming even if there seems to be
an answer because some suggestions may not be
available locally.

plums,

I've tested a few different wheel paints over the years, most recently for matching the Polaris wheels on our '04. I don't know which would be closest for Asteroids, but here are the ones I can remember using or testing:

Rust-Oleum High Performance Wheel Paint High Gloss Silver (a very good match for the OE paint on the Polaris wheels of our '04 and was compatible with my favorite clear coat from Automotive Touchup).

Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating Acrylic Enamel Metallic Silver (The Dupli-Color clear coat I used on the unpainted surfaces of the Dimple wheels on our XJ40 peeled, but the silver metallic might have been fine on its own).

Wurth Lacquer Spray Metallic Silver (good match for our BMW wheels but so is the Rust-Oleum and it's a lot less expensive).

The clear coat I like is item AER-CC from automotivetouchup.com:

Spray Paint Clearcoat | Aerosol Touch Up | AutomotiveTouchup

My most recent wheel restoration was on our '04, and I tried two application methods. One was to clear coat the silver within 15 minutes of the last silver coat, which allowed some of the silver flake to rise up into the clear coat, creating a very nice 3D effect, but it did not look like the OE wheels. The other method was to allow the silver dry for 24 hours before clearcoating, which produced a less 3D effect that was very similar to the OE finish.

Two misted coats of clear followed by one wet finish coat produced a gloss and depth that was very similar to OE, but I couldn't resist adding another wet coat, which made it deeper and glossier than OE. But after a couple of months of brake dust and washing, I would be very surprised if anyone could identify the refinished wheel without a really close look.

Cheers,

Don
