1998 VDP, 160,000 mi. New member on board here. I wanted to see if anyone can direct me or briefly descrip how to align my sunroof. I took it in to get the car detailed and now the sunroof is out of wack. Passenger side is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch off from driver's side. Also, is it possible to align without taking out the headliner?

Is the inside or the outside out of wack? The sunroof outer panel is somewhat independent from the inner headliner portion, usually it is the inner fabric covered panel that gets misaligned. There are a couple clips and pins that it is attached to and they probably have become disconnected.

 

thanks, i removed the sunroof headliner and examined the track guides. found a small plastic chip on the rail. after i removed the piece it opened and closed perfectly. i got lucky.
