I am in the same position as you were with the same noise, how long did you drive it with that noise and what will happen if I keep driving it?

I did not know it was a problem until a mechanic pointed it out. I would estimate about 15,000 miles of use. risks would be that the lobes could break apart, enter the engine and destroy some part of the inside of the engine

Not too many people mess with the jaguar supercharger

PSE in is oklahoma, that's somewhat close to GA. you could mail it to them at a relatively reasonable rate

I just got the supercharger for my 01 XKR back from PSE in Oklahoma. I have not got as far as starting it yet, but they were very pleasant to deal with and the rebuild looks good and feels very nice and tight. They turned it around in about 3 days. Mine also sounded like I was grinding rocks through it and it turned out to be a bad coupler. The full rebuild cost was about $870 with return shipping, plus about $50 to send it to them. Interestingly, if you go to Eurotoysltd.com they offer the same service for $700 and say they send them straight to PSE for the actual work.

Thanks for this info, think my supercharger is starting to decline, need to find a rebuild service in the UK, South east if possible. Cheers

Default Same problem

Here is what I found when I took mine apart, there was about 30 degrees of backlash on the pulley when I took the belt off and noise was only heard on engine over-run after a throttle blip.Supercharger problem?-broken_coupler.jpg
