Is it the Torque Converter???

I have recently purchased a 04 XJ8 Select Edition which has 36K and is in great shape. The question, when pulling away from a standstill the car is not shifting smoothly into second gear, is this related to the torque converter and how can it be corrected.

Does it use a ZF gearbox? If so, I'll be taking one apart monday or tuesdayto rebuild for aspare. By Friday I'll know these like the back of my hand. If it doesn't use a ZF box, well then, I'm sorry, I don't know.

Hey thanks and yes "ZF6". Did some research on this site and saw the TSB from 02/01/2006 regarding harsh transmission shifts, B#30706 S#10012462. Going to see theservice managerin the AM, will post with results.
