Default Tranny swapped now car won't start

Hello I have a 98 VDP with 65k I just replaced the tranny. Now I can't get it to start when I turn the key I ect a loud click but the motor isn't turning over I recently bought a new battery for it so I dnt think that is the problem and I just took the starter to get checked and the test came back that it was still good not sure what else it could be if I can get some insight it would be very helpful thank you

A fast check of the following for 100% connections,
1. Engine earth strap located under car rhs near trans bell housing.
2. Heavy black cable running from the front bulkhead rhs brass nutted to the brake servo housing.
3. same cable other side (inner wing) runs to 2 fuse boxes, check their connections, undo, clean and retighten.
4. battery terminals, check they're on tight, also check the neg cable side and where it connects to chassis.

Hope this gets it to start.

Help those of us who might swap an engine- What do you mean the starter was not aligned? Not bolted tight, Gears not aligned with the new/old flexplate...?
