Howdy all. Im doing my 4.2 crank pulley install an noticed a bit of the green crust on both my bleed hoses to the intercooler and around the bottom edge of the radiator.

I have a good used rad on the way but the jag workshop manual is not super clear.

Im guessing remove the coolant hoses, tranny cooler hoses, top panel, remove any bolt connections for ps cooler and ic he, and then out it comes? Any issues with access or tricks?

You remove it from the bottom without having to pull the radiator and condenser out is what I remember. Remove the grill and lower splash shield. Be very patient with the plastic pipes.

 

so removing the radiator was no big deal. 10 T40s on the top panel, tranny cooler lines, all major and vent hoses and then slowly wiggle it up and out, being very careful with the a/c and powersteering cooler lines. Took maybe 15 minutes.

 

Check your sway bar bushes while rad is out. Very easy job with it out. The oil cooler lines are pretty open i think also

 

done already, thanks. At the end of this car there may be about 5 mechanical parts on this car that haven't been replaced.

 

This reminds me of a '69 SS Camaro that I felt the same way about. The good
thing about it is...you really know your car!

 

fantastic. I have an 06 str and have those front sways left and 2 heater hoses. Both in great shape still. A lot of work but oh so satisfying and well worth it. Even rebuilt the charger while it was off for the valley hoses. I could not own this car without doing my own work and the knowledge on the forum
