Default Trunk emblem

How is the trunk emblem fastened? I bought a new Vanden Plas emblem and need to know how to peel off the existing one. Is is just secured by adhesive? And if so what type of adhesive is recommended to attach the new one? Thanks.

Does the new emblem have sticky side? Depending on what year. But most likely held on by adhesive.Remove old emblem using fishing line.clean area good and apply new one.be sure to center emblem, drives me crazy seeing emblems on crooked or worse than that wrong side of lid.Good Luck
