One of the things that had always bugged me about my car (03 XJ8) since I got it was the fact that the turning signal had always made absolutely no noise whatsoever, making it easy to accidentally drive with the signal on.

I had always thought it was a luxury car silent operation 'feature' but then I learned that there is supposed to be a noise... so I figured a previous owner had installed solid state relays which make no noise... so I went to go figure out which relay is attached to the turn signals. Upon inspection, I realized that the relay is not part of the usual fuse box, and I have no idea where it actually lives.

Anyone ever heard of this happening, and can someone tell me where the relay for the turning signal is actually located?

IIRC, the "noise" for a lot of the jaguar xj8 functions, including turn signals come from a small speaker on the steering column

mine wasnt working when I got the car. ended up being a bad speaker. There have been reports of a wire breaking to it,caused by column tilt.
